How to play NCAA Assassins
Draft teams, collect their wins, and see which of them survive the weekly assassins.

The game in 10 seconds
- Draft Division I basketball teams with your friends. Every win by one of your surviving teams earns you 1 point.
- Every Monday morning, the league learns which undrafted teams are assassins for the week.
- If an assassin beats one of your teams, that team is eliminated. You keep the points it already earned.
- Most points at the end of the season wins.
The twist
An assassin is a real opponent on somebody’s schedule. It can threaten any drafted team it faces that week—even teams belonging to different people. One upset can sting the whole league.
The full rules
- Leagues have 4 to 11 members. The number of teams you draft depends on league size, and the draft snakes back and forth.
- You can add AI opponents before the draft. They draft alongside everyone else.
- Every Monday at 9:00 a.m. Eastern, Sloopio randomly draws up to one undrafted assassin for each member from the known games against that member’s surviving teams that week. If there is no eligible opponent for a member, no extra assassin is drawn for them.
- An assassin belongs to the league, not to the member whose schedule produced it. It can eliminate any drafted team it beats during that week.
- Only games already on the schedule when Monday’s draw happens can produce assassins that week. There are no surprise additions later in the week.
- Your teams earn 1 point for each win against another Division I team, including wins in conference tournaments. Wins against non-Division I teams do not score.
- An eliminated team stops earning points after the game in which it lost to an assassin. Your earlier points stay on the scoreboard.
- A league drafted after the season begins starts scoring in the next Monday-through-Sunday week.
- Scoring ends on Selection Sunday. The NCAA tournament does not count.
- If members tie on points, the member with more surviving teams wins the tiebreaker. If they are still tied, they share the finish.
