How to play NFL Closest Game

Pick the game that finishes closest. Its final margin is your score, and low score wins.

How NFL Closest Game works: pick one NFL game each week, score its final margin, keep the lowest season total, and use one mulligan to erase a bad week.

The full rules

  • A league may have between 2 and 30 players. New leagues begin with the next complete NFL week.
  • Every regular-season game is eligible, including Thursday, Saturday, and international games.
  • You may choose or change your game until your selected game begins. That pick then locks and becomes visible to the league.
  • Other players' picks stay hidden until their individual selected games lock.
  • If you miss a pick, your score is that week's largest final margin. Nothing extra is added—the Browns already made it painful enough.
  • A Mulligan is irreversible and may erase either a normal pick or a missed-pick penalty.
  • If your Mulligan remains unused when Week 18 begins, Week 18 automatically scores zero.
